Mee-Ma's Louisiana Gumbo Bricks make it easy to make a pot of gumbo for up to 10 people in less than an hour. It's frozen, seasoned real roux for real gumbo!
So I traveled 46 miles from the high desert to Redlands in search of the Gumbo Brick, it was worth every mile, as a native of New Orleans, I know what good gumbo is and...this is it!!! Thank you Carole
Foster's Gumbo Bricks are currently sold in farmers markets and stores (including Buddha Market, Park's Meat Market, Miracle Meat Market, Family Meat Market and Lakeview Farm Market) across Southern California.
Sights set on Costco, she took them a sample in 2008. A manager tried it and liked it.
"He says to me, 'this is a good idea, I'm going to pass it along to the frozen food sellers, but don't expect a call from him until after the holidays cause it's holiday time.' The buyer called me within two weeks."
They went on to sell the Brick at Costco's road shows.
"The first weekend we sold 972 units.
"I believe in the word of God," Carole says. "I don't have a church home, but I believe when it says in the Bible that you should speak those things that are not as though they were, just keep speaking life into the dreams, keep affirming, keep saying it, and if it's God's will, it will happen."
